History:
The Maggot is the smallest missile in the Zentraedi inventory. It is so small, in fact, that an almost identical variant serves as the cluster bomblet for the MPA-5 Moloch missile fired by the Regult Heavy Artillery battlepod.
A dedicated small dogfight missile, the Maggot is best compared to a very maneuverable anti-tank missile, as it does not have the speed and range to be used against fast airborne targets (such as trans- and supersonic Valkyries). Used against slower moving targets and ground targets, however, the missile is quite lethal.
A conical missile with an optical/IR seeker in the front end, and flat radar aerials to the rear, the Maggot is launched almost exclusively in salvos of 6-12 rounds. However, a great number of this small missile can be carried by its most important carrier, the Queadluun-Rau, which carries no less than 126 Maggot missiles.
